Steinway Society - The Bay Area

Henry Schiro was a Silicon Valley music scene icon, focused on his love of music, his commitment to advancing the youth of our community and his dedication to enriching our lives through music. Through his latest affiliation with Steinway Society the Bay Area (SSBA), Henry matched his love of music with his devotion to ensuring that music and music education is accessible to all. The legacy of this devotion is also apparent when considering the continuing success of the numerous arts organizations he endowed with his many years of public advocacy, generous support and leadership, such as Children’s Musical Theater San José and San José Jazz Society. In February, SSBA launched the Henry A. Schiro Music Literacy Program, focused on bringing music education back into all of our San José public schools.

We at Steinway Society The Bay Area will sorely miss our dear friend and colleague. His loss is profound not only to us, but also to the San José Community. His tireless work, boundless enthusiasm, devotion, and passion for the important work he believed in exemplified his life and dedication to sharing music with the world.
