On Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 7PM, Mexican Heritage Plaza in San José will host an extraordinary and historically important inaugural collaborative event with Steinway Society The Bay Area.
The September 8th concert features Jorge Federico Osorio, a world-renowned concert pianist born in Mexico City, who will perform selected works by Manuel María Ponce (1882-1948), a composer from Zacatecas, Mexico. Mr. Osorio will also perform the music of Spanish composer Enrique Granados (1867-1916), juxtaposed with a piece by the 19th century French/Polish composer, Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849). Interestingly, all of these esteemed composers studied their art of composition in Paris.
Jorge Federico Osorio is one of the pre-eminent pianists of our time and is internationally acclaimed for his superb musicianship and masterful command of the instrument. He has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras and is also a prolific recording artist. Mr. Osorio has received glowing reviews internationally and has been marked as one of the great interpreters of Spanish piano music in the world today.
