Pianist Stephen Prutsman
To Kick Off Steinway Society’s 2004-2005 Season

San Jose, California -- Steinway Society the Bay Area announces the booking engagement of soloist, chamber musician, composer, and recording artist Stephen Prutsman for a performance on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at 7:00pm at Le Petit Trianon Theatre in downtown San Jose, CA.

The Steinway Society is a non-profit volunteer based organization whose mission is ?To promote excellence in piano performance and music education in the Bay Area.? Entering its tenth season, the Stephen Prutsman performance is the opening concert of the Steinway Society’s newly expanded nine-concert 2004-2005 season.

Having first achieved international recognition as a medallist at the 1990 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition, Mr. Prutsman’s career has also been distinguished by a first prize victory in the 2001 ICA International Composition Competition, frequent appearances on NPR s Performance Today, and many other honors. Hailed as one of the finest American pianists of his generation, Stephen Prutsman is one of the most versatile and brilliant pianists of today.
