Steinway Society Announces
Community Access Concert Series

Steinway Society The Bay Area announces the 2003-2004 Community Access Concert Series to be held at the Le Petit Trianon Theatre located in downtown San Jose. As a gift to the community Steinway Society and Honorary Chair Council Member Cindy Chavez are inviting the citizens of the Downtown neighborhoods and the Community as a whole to join us for a three concert family-friendly series introducing various aspects of the world of piano music. The performances will be educational without being a lecture and entertaining without being simplistic. The concerts will be offered free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis and provide a high quality sampler of great music.

The Steinway Society is a non-profit volunteer based organization whose mission is "To promote excellence in piano performance and music education in the Bay Area". Entering its tenth season, Steinway Society annually presents a six-concert season. The 2003/2004 season subscription series promises to be one of the best seasons ever for the Society and features Olga Kern, 2001Van Cliburn Gold Medallist, September 13th and 14th, Robert Schwartz on November 16th, Jon Nakamatsu, 1997 Van Cliburn Gold Medallist, January 3rd and 4th, Young artists concert on February 8th, showcasing talented Bay Area competition winners, Ursula Oppens, March 21st and Yin,Cheng Zong, April 18th.

The Community Concert Access Series begins Sunday, October 19th at 2:30pm and will feature Patric Nikolas. Patric will present a concert of jazz/classical fusion. Additional concert have been scheduled for Sunday, April 4, 2004 featuring pianist Irina Prilipko-Morgan and soprano Barbara Divis and Sunday, June 27, 2004 featuring pianist li-shan Hung in a mixed program with the innovative violist Mimi Dye.


Le Petit Trianon Theatre, www.trianontheatre.com, is located in downtown San Jose at 72 North 5th Street. Admission to the Community Access Concert Series is free and will be offered on a first come first serve basis.
