Russian Trio From San Jose Sister City "Ekaterinburg, Russia" To Perform
Le Petit Trianon Theatre, in cooperation with the San Jose Chamber Music Society and the Russian Media Club, announces two concerts by The Ekaterinburg Trio. The "Kat Trio" - a violin, clarinet, and piano ensemble from San Jose's Sister City, Ekaterinburg, Russia, will present concerts at 72 North Fifth Street in downtown San Jose on Thursday, March 27 at 7:00p.m. and Friday, March 28, 2003 at 8:00p.m.
Joyful is the word that audiences use to describe the Trio's presentation of classical, inspirational, and pop standards. "The Kat Trio" has spent the past three summers in the United States, based in Madison, Wisconsin, performing more than 150 concerts in Chicago, Denver, Des Moines, Milwaukee, Madison, and many small communities across the Upper Midwest, impressing audiences with their technique and artistic interpretations.
The Ekaterinburg Trio, www.thekattrio.com, is Victoria Gorbich, Vladislav Gorbich, and Vasil Galiulin, all graduates of the Ural State Music Conservatory in Ekaterinburg, Russia. They are in the U.S. on an extended tour in support of their two most recent CD releases. "On Eagles' Wings" (Earth Records) was recorded in tribute to the many church congregations who have embraced their music and contains 15 beloved hymns and sacred songs. "Serenade for Three" (Earth Records), released the first week of December 2002, was designated CD of the Week by Wisconsin Public Radio. It spotlights the music of classical composers Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Rakhmaninov, Dvorak, Schickele, and others.
The Trio's two performances will feature classical compositions, well-known inspirational songs, as well as some American pop standards, including the ragtime of Scott Joplin.

Tickets for the "Kat Trio" performances scheduled for Thursday, March 27th at 7:00p.m. and Friday, March 28th at 8:00p.m. are priced at $15.00 General and $10.00 for Students and Seniors 65 and over.
