1st Annual Fundraising Gala

Art is the heartbeat of the valley, keep the beat going!

Silicon Valley Arts Coalition announces their 1st Annual Fundraising Gala on Friday, January 31, 2003 at 6:30pm at Le Petit Trianon Theatre in downtown San Jose, California. The event will include an evening of performances, hor'doeuvres and refreshments and a silent auction. Tickets are priced at $15.00 or two for $25.00.

The Silicon Valley Arts Coalition is made up of arts organizations that represent the ethnic diversity of the Santa Clara Valley and five main arts disciplines: dance, music, visual art, drama and literary arts. The organization was established in the spring of 2001 and its mission is to increase visibility through the media and expand audiences for small-budget arts organizations. The Coalition is a volunteer non-profit arts service organization whose membership includes over twenty small budget arts groups. Presentations and performances by these groups have been recognized for their high quality and affordability. The membership includes: American Guild of Organists, Basilica Concerts, Dimension Performing Arts, FineArtsNet, Le Petit Trianon Theatre, Lyric Theatre, Mission Chamber Orchestra, National League of American Pen Women Santa Clara Branch, Nova Vista Symphony, Palo Alto Philharmonic, San Francisco Chapter of the National Association of Composers, San Jose Art League, San Jose Dance Theatre, San Jose Metropolitan Band, San Jose Music Study Club, San Jose Symphonic Choir, San Jose Wind Symphony, Shady Shakespeare, South Bay Guitar Society, The Tabard Theatre Co., Winchester Orchestra.

The evening will begin with a reception catered by Scott Borkenhagen's Eulipia Restaurant. Champagne, wine and other refreshments will be served with the hor'doeuvres while the attendees consider a number of unique silent auction items including a guest conducting engagement with the Mission Chamber Orchestra, an actor's role with the Lyric Theatre, music for a wedding ceremony, and an overnight package at the Fairmont that includes two tickets to the San Jose Ballet. Exceptional performances from their member organizations will take place throughout the evening including: American Guild of Organists - St. Martin of Tours Elementary Choir and Ringers, Lyric Theatre - Operetta Gems, Mission Chamber

Orchestra - String Quintet, Palo Alto Philharmonic - String Quartet, San Jose Metropolitan
Band - Saxophone Quartet, and San Jose Wind Symphony - Woodwind Quintet.
